We call ourselves „NEZLOMNÍ“ („UNBROKEN„).
Why? Because that is exactly what the people we meet on our journeys are like – determined and unbroken. They fight however they can; we fight with our own „weapons“ – he camera and the pen. We share their stories and use them to rally support through financial and material aid drives. Fortunately, there are still many people who care deeply about the plight of others and support our efforts. Thank you! None of this would be possible without you.
We are currently dedicating most of our time to helping our neighbor, Ukraine. Russian aggression has been ongoing for four years.
We are not stopping, and we will not stop until the Russian occupiers leave Ukrainian territory. We continue our fundraising efforts to support the unbroken people and defenders of Ukraine.
Jana Čavojská
A reporter and photographer, she is the author of two books of reportage – Dunaj – Rieka príbehov (Danube – River of Stories) and Humans: 30 tvárí lepšieho Slovenska (Humans: 30 Faces of a Better Slovakia) – and the co-author of the documentary film danubeStory about the Danube River. Her reporting focuses primarily on the stories of people facing complex life situations, as well as on migration and refugee issues. She has traveled to 80 countries to cover these stories, including South Sudan, Haiti, Rwanda, Venezuela, Iraq, and Syria. Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, she has been traveling there not only as a reporter but also to deliver essential aid to civilians and Ukraine’s defenders.
Marcel Rebro
Photographer, traveler, blogger, and fundraiser. He spent a long time documenting the lives of the Nenets – nomadic reindeer herders in northern Russia – and published a book about them titled Nenci – s fotoaparátom za ruskými Eskimákmi (The Nenets: Following Russia’s „Eskimos“ with a Camera). He traveled to Ukraine for the first time in March 2023. During that initial visit to the war-torn country, he realized that simply documenting and photographing was not enough; together with Jana, he began organizing fundraising campaigns to provide aid.
